Speedy Wunderground has announced its latest release, which comes in the form of Scottibrains’ new single ‘Aristorats’.
It’s Scottibrains’ third release for the label, which is run by the band’s own Dan Carey. It follows 2013’s ‘Keep Your Eyes Open Boy’ and 2018’s ‘Sustained Threat’, and is the label’s third fully digital release.
The video, which you can see above, was compiled using footage of Carey and bandmates Oli Bayston, Liam Hutton and Beth Buxton in their respective coronavirus isolation. The label will release ‘Aristorats’ on April 10.
"We had this amazing concept for the video," says Carey, "but obviously in the current climate – we couldn’t do it – so we made it this way instead, all of us remotely. However, rest assured, when this all blows over – we will make that video."
Produced by Carey, recently named UK Producer Of The Year at the Music Producers Guild Awards, the record was mixed by his 15-year-old daughter Orla.
Speedy Wunderground has also recently announced details of its ‘Quarantine Series’, an ongoing project in which Dan Carey’s ‘Savage Gary’ alter ego collaborates with a range of different artists. The first track, ‘I Was Looking Forward To The Summer’, was recorded with Kate Tempest and is available here.
