Scarlett Johansson has hinted at plans to record a follow-up to 2008 debut Anywhere I Lay My Head comprising entirely of solo material.
Johansson’s Dave Sitek-produced album of Tom Waits covers caused something of a stir on its release to mixed reviews in May. The record actually featured a lone original composition, ‘Song For Jo’, among a host of shoegazey interpretations of the gravel-larynxed one.
Johansson has confirmed that she would "love" to record a follow-up.
The actress told MTV: "I don’t think I’d do covers, so it’d be a project that I have to dedicate myself to," she said. "I feel like that’s something for the future."
When asked who she would chose if she had to do another album of covers, Johansson said: "If I had to, Leonard Cohen, maybe."
Below is an artist’s impression of what Scarlett might look like, singing one of her own songs.
Is this pathetic?
