Savages Start Recording Second Album

The London four-piece to follow up Silence Yourself either later this year or early next; watch live performance of new song Adore below

Noisy post-punks Savages are planning to release their as-of-yet untitled second album late this year or early next year. Frontwoman Jehnny Beth says to Spin regarding fans’ reactions to the new material, which the band toured briefly in January for American audiences, "some songs, they couldn’t believe the heaviness of it".

Only a few weeks into the recording process, additional details are scarce. "Fifth member" and co-operator of Beth’s Pop Noire label Johnny Hostile is producing and mixing the record, and Beth cryptically says of the new record that there are "different intentions behind it". The band are laying down the record in RAK Studios, which Beth insists is haunted (the space is a repurposed boys’ school). You can catch a performance of new song ‘Adore’ above.
