SALT Magazine Publish Final Edition

Interviews with Aleister X, BATALJ and Cardiacs feature in last issue

It’s with a tinge of sadness that we report the final pressing brilliant outsider art fanzine, SALT, produced by the Quietus scribe Kevin Mccaighy.

After 13 years and 11 issues in charge, Mccaighy is calling time on the esoteric music and literature rag, saying in an e-mail: "It’s just time to bring it to a close." In the SALT swansong you will find interviews with American enigma Aleister X, extreme noise trio BATALJ, hardcore punk and grind label Give Praise Records, US psych label Nod And Smile Records and UK underground tape-orientated label Six Six Sixties Records. On top of that, you can feast your eyes on a review of a Californian wrestling convention by Justin Davisson and a feature on much-admired British eccentrics, Cardiacs.

You can get hold of a copy via Mccaighy’s blog here. Adieu!
