WATCH: Saint Saviour – I Remember

First track from forthcoming second album In The Seams

Becky Jones, aka Saint Saviour, is gearing up to release her second album, In The Seams. Out on November 2 via her own label Surface Area, it sees Jones, formerly the touring lead vocalist of Groove Armada and The RGBs, changing tact somewhat from her debut, 2012’s Union. While that album was a collection of "[s]ensitive, powerful and ultimately unusual ballads", as tQ’s Mof Gimmers wrote, In The Seams is a set of string-laced folk songs, that see Jones turning to her own life for source material and working with the composer and former Coral man, Bill Ryder-Jones, and the Manchester Camerata Orchestra. "I over confused things with layers and layers of production. I hid my songs under noise," says Jones of Union. "In The Seams is all about me, my memories and my childhood. It’s really honest and for that reason I wanted the songs to just be allowed to be natural. I didn’t want to trivialise that honesty."

As a taster, Jones has given us the video for the first track taken off the album, ‘I Remember’, autumnal, ornate orchestral folk, which swells with strings before falling into a pleasingly unresolved-feeling coda, promising much for the full-length – watch that above. You can pre-order the album here and catch Saint Saviour performing with Ryder-Jones on a December tour, details of which are over at her Facebook.
