Ryuichi Sakamoto has released a new live recording of his 1999 track ‘Aqua’, the original of which appeared on his piano album BTTB.

The updated recording of ‘Aqua’ is sourced from Sakamoto’s 2020 show Playing Piano For The Isolated, which was released on the Japanese composer’s YouTube channel during the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be released as part of Coldcut’s forthcoming i>@0</i compilation, which was announced earlier this month and sees them compile ambient and downtempo music from the likes of Suzanne Ciani, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Helena Hauff and lots more. You can listen to ‘Aqua’ above.

The compilation will be released through Ninja Tune sub-label Ahead Of Our Time, and Ninja Tune will be donating its share of profits from the release to three charities: CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), Mind and Black Minds Matter.

Ahead Of Our Time will release i>@0</i on November 19, 2021.
