Rare Ryuichi Sakamoto Record To Be Reissued

Ryuichi Sakamoto's BTTB is to be reissued for its 20th anniversary

BTTB, the rare solo piano record released by Ryuichi Sakamoto in 1998 is set to be reissued to mark its 20th anniversary.

Due out next month, the reissue includes liner notes from Japanese author Haruki Murakami. Upon original release, the album – the title of which is an acronym for Back to the Basics – was a hit inside Japan but has since become hard to come by outside of the country on the resale market.

The album takes influence from the compositions of Claude Debussy ad Erik Satie. Milan Records will oversee the reissue which will be available from November 9.
