Mute is to reissue two solo albums by Rowland S. Howard.
The singer, songwriter and guitarist, who formed a core part of The Birthday Party alongside Nick Cave and Mick Harvey, released two solo albums, 1999’s Teenage Snuff Film and 2009’s Pop Crimes. Both have been remastered for their new release, and you can hear the remastered version of ‘Dead Radio’ from Teenage Snuff Film above.
The reissues will follow a number of tribute dates to Rowland, who died in 2009. The shows, which are scheduled around Europe, including a stop-off at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall on February 12, will include guests such as Mick Harvey, Lydia Lunch, Bobby Gillespie, Jonnine Standish and JP Shilo who will all honour Rowland’s legacy.
Mute’s reissues of Teenage Snuff Film and Pop Crimes will be released on March 27.
