Ronson, Eno Up For Production Prize

Bernard Butler and Steve Mac also among hopefuls for London bash

Mark Ronson, Brian Eno and Suede guitarist Bernard Butler are among the nominees for the inaugural Music Producers Guild Awards.

Bespoke brass-abuser Ronson is in line for International Producer of the Year and the Joe Meek Award For Innovation gongs at the shindig, which will take place on February 12th in London.

Bjork and Eno will also slug it out for Meek’s symbolic approval, while the latter goes head-to-shiny-head with Bernard Butler and Steve Mac for the Producer of the Year prize.

Elsewhere and Welsh warbler Duffy’s ‘Mercy’ is nominated for Single of the Year, Coldplay’s Viva La Vida, Elbow’s The Seldom Seen Kid and Duffy’s own Rockferry are up for Album of the Year, and Kate Nash producer Paul Epworth scores a nod for Best Newcomer award.
