Radio station puts out film to celebrate eighteenth birthday

In the lead up to their eighteenth birthday weekend, Rinse FM are releasing a documentary series, 18 Years Of Rinse, tracing the history of the influential radio station.

In the first film – watch below – Rinse pioneers Geeneus and Slimzee recall their memories of the early days of Rinse as a pirate station, discussing topics from Slimzee’s ASBO banning him from going any higher than a fourth storey, to Geeneus wiring Wiley’s electric box to avoid paying the electric bill.

Rinse’s 18th Birthday takes place this weekend, with Katy B, Skream, P Money and Diplo launching Manchester’s recently relocated Warehouse Project on Friday, and Boy Better Know, Ms Dynamite and more, as well as special guests Modeselektor and Claude Von Stroke, on the bill for Saturday’s event at Brixton Academy.
