Ride Reform!

Oxford group back for 2015 dates, including Field Day headline slot

There’s been much speculation that Ride might follow their Thames Valley chums Slowdive and get back together for some dates – and now this has been confirmed. After posters appeared in Barcelona with ‘Ride’ emblazoned across them this week, the Primavera Festival has confirmed that they’ll be playing next year’s event on May 29 and, even more enticingly, will be headlining the Sunday of Field Day, just announced as taking place in London’s Victoria Park from June 6-7 2015. There’ll also be a string of UK dates, including two Field Day Presents shows in Manchester and London, with tickets for those and the festival going on sale this Friday, November 21, at 9 am – full dates are below. Get stuck in to Ride’s killer dirge pop classic ‘Drive Blind’ above, and have a read of Joe Clay’s piece on Going Blank Again here. Back at a Glastonbury a few years ago Mark Gardener, Andy Bell and Loz Colbert actually got together onstage with members of Goldrush and played some Ride songs, and it was pretty terrific to witness.
