Before they headline our stage at Field Day next month, Ride are embarking on a short run of UK dates, kicking off with Glasgow’s Barrowlands this Friday, May 22. We are very lucky here at The Quietus to have got our hands on some limited tickets for Ride’s long sold-out gigs at Manchester’s Albert Hall on Saturday, May 23, and the Roundhouse in London on Sunday, 24. The tickets will go on sale tomorrow morning at 10 am – head here to get hold of them.

While the band’s Andy Bell, talking to tQ’s Joe Clay for a feature-length interview that we’ll be publishing tomorrow, said that new music isn’t currently on the agenda – "There’s nothing really happening in that department at the moment. What we’re talking about for the future is just doing more shows as that seems to still be the thing" – his bandmate Steve Queralt didn’t completely write it off, responding to a question about a new album with: "Further down the line we might". Talking about the reunion shows, however, Bell said: "I just went into the zone with the music. It had been quite an emotional ride to get back to that spot though and I think I was so overwhelmed when I got onto the stage that I almost had to slap myself with a wet fish for a minute. When I’m in the build-up to dates, I always picture myself at a particular venue. Throughout rehearsals all I could think about was going on stage in Oxford and that was really what it was all about for me. Now I’ve switched to Barrowlands and it’s all about that. I can picture the room; I can picture walking on stage." The band headline Sunday 7 June at Field Day – tickets are here – and watch the band performing ‘Seagull’ on KCRW below:
