Richie Hawtin Returns To F.U.S.E. Project

An unreleased Richie Hawtin album recorded under his F.U.S.E. alias is set for release next month

Richie Hawtin has confirmed plans to return to his ’90s project F.U.S.E.

A vinyl box set, and digital collection, titled Dimensions (25th Anniversary Edition), will take in remastered versions of Hawtin’s F.U.S.E. albums Dimension Intrusion and Train-Tracs, as well as a previously unreleased album called Computer Space which dates back to 1993. The release will also take in extra unreleased bonus tracks from the sessions that produced Dimension Intrusion and Train-Tracs.

Computer Space was recorded in the fall of 1993 as an experiment based upon sampling the Roland TB-303 with Akai S950 sampler," says Hawtin of the previously unreleased album in the set. "By looping and stretching different TB-303 samples I was able to create strings, pads and different TB-303 related textures that became the basis of the sessions."

The box set is being released as a partnership between Hawtin’s Plus 8 Records and The Vinyl Factory, and will come with artwork from Hawtin’s visual artist brother Matthew Hawtin, who has produced artist grade prints of the original album covers.

The vinyl box set will be available from April 15 while the digital release will follow in May. You can pre-order the box set here. Hawtin will launch the release with the ‘Dimensions’ exhibition at 180 The Strand in London. That will be open to the public from April 5-14.
