Richey Manic Lyrics On New Album

New Manics album featuring Edwards to be released next year

The Manic Street Preachers will feature lyrics written by missing guitarist Richey James Edwards, Nicky Wire revealed today.

Speaking to NME.com, Manics’ bassist Wire said that the album, which might be called Journal For Plague Lovers, will feature lyrics exclusively written by Edwards, who went missing in 1994.

We’ve had these lyrics for 14 years and we all felt compelled that this was the right time to do it," Wire told said. "It’s a follow-up to The Holy Bible in a lot of ways." Hasn’t he said that before?

"There’s a small amount of editing involved, because some of [the words] are prose and they needed to be made into lyrics, but they’re all Richey’s."
