LISTEN: New Richard Fearless

Ahead of the release of a new album tomorrow, Fearless unveils the 12-minute title track

Tomorrow (November 22) sees the release of the first LP from Death In Vegas’ Richard Maguire under his Richard Fearless guise.

Titled Deep Rave Memory, the album takes in eight richly melodic, low-slung dance floor-adjacent tools recorded at Metal Box, his studio situated on the peninsula of land where the River Lea meets the Thames.

"There’s a steel factory on the opposite bank and the sounds of industrial metalwork is incredibly inspirational," he says of the studio. "Then you have the continuously growing skyline too. It’s a very Ballardian landscape. You get these party boats that go down the river. You hear these drifts of music floating over. I tried to emulate that when I put mixes down, sweeping the effects in and out, catching the delay tales."

Premiering above is the album’s title track, a 12-minute epic of creeping pads, bleary-eyed synths and syncopated kicks. You can pre-order the album ahead of its release via Maguire’s label Drone here.
