Richard Dawson is releasing a limited-edition live DVD to accompany his 2022 album The Ruby Cord.

Out in December, The Ruby Cord Live features a live performance that Dawson and his band played at St. George’s Bristol in May of this year while touring his seventh album. It was filmed by James Hamkins, who also directed the video for album track ‘The Hermit’. You can watch a trailer for the live film above.

In a statement, Dawson said: "Our tour last spring was a special time. I was glad to be on the road with loved ones. The music was challenging but I mainly felt calm. It was the first time I ever played sitting down, which is OK because I am middle-aged now. We drank – but not to excess. We ate reasonably healthily. We met some fine folks – thank you for sharing those evenings with us. The nine dates in April/May ’23 were the first and (probably) last performances of The Ruby Cord. I’m delighted James Hankins and his team captured so cannily our antepenultimate show in Bristol, and that I’m able to share it with you now."

Domino will release The Ruby Cord Live on December 8, 2023.
