Rewire Confirm First Acts For 2018 Festival

Laurie Anderson, Nina Kraviz and Floating Points are amongst the first announced acts for next year's Rewire in The Hague

The first artists have been announced for the eighth edition of Rewire, taking place in The Hague in April of next year.

Amongst the first announced highlights for next year’s festival are Laurie Anderson, Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein performing music from the Stranger Things soundtracks, UUUU, Nina Kraviz and Floating Points performing live.

Laurie Anderson will take up the role of the festival’s inaugural Artist in Focus. "With this new concept, Rewire will showcase early pioneers who’ve had a profound impact on and continue to shape the worlds of music and art," the festival say. At the festival, Anderson will present the latest iteration of her ongoing series, ‘The Language of the Future’ which is a new multi-media performance about contemporary culture that crosses the territories between dreams, reality and the elusive world of information. She will also take part in an artist talk and additional programme contributions, which will be announced in the future.

Also confirmed to play are Chino Amobi, Karen Gwyer, SUUNS, Ben Vince, Umfang, Ziúr, Volvox, Visionist + Pedro Maia, Sugai Ken, The Thing, Ninos du Brasil, Rupert Clervaux & Ben Vince, Golden Retriever, JASSS, MHYSA, Joshua Abrams & Natural Information Society, Farai, Širom, Raphael Vanoli, Daniel O’Sullivan & Dream Lion Ensemble, Deena Abdelwahed and Ellen Arkbro + Zinc & Copper.

The festival takes place in The Hague’s city centre from April 6-8. Various commissioned and special projects will be announced in the coming months. You can find out more information and get tickets here.
