Downwards sub-label Housewerk has been revived for a pair of reissues.
The label’s first two records, both released in 1996, are available on vinyl once again. Credited to Reality Or Nothing and A H Corp respectively, both were produced by Karl O’Connor and Pete Sutton, AKA Regis and Female. The first 300 copies are available on coloured vinyl and each release features new artwork by Juan Mendez, AKA Silent Servant.
The two records, titled One Day Away and Pipeline, find Regis and Female on a more Detroit-flavoured house and techno tip than the industrial techno many have come to know them for since. You can listen to clips of both records via Hard Wax.
While Housewerk’s first two records are available again now, the label’s remaining four releases, from 1996 to 1998, are due to be reissued later in the year. Dave Sumner, AKA Function, contributed to two of the remaining releases under his Dan Nurse alias.
One Day Away and Pipeline are out now on Housewerk.
