LISTEN: New Raime, Plus LP Details

Quarter Turns Over A Living Line for release on November 19th

Raime, the London-based duo who have been among the flagship acts for the Blackest Ever Black label, are set to release their debut album Quarter Turns Over A Living Line through BEB on November 19th. It follows on from their last EP, Hennail, which came out towards the end of 2011. You can listen to a track from the album, ‘Soil & Colts’, via the embed below.

The album takes a step away from the largely sample-based nature of their earlier material. Instead, the text accompanying the album release states, "Joe Andrews and Tom Halstead have looked increasingly to live instrumentation for their first full-length work, mounting intensive recording sessions for percussion, guitar and strings before painstakingly piecing the album together at their home studio. The gothic and industrial signifiers in their music remain, but more submerged and oblique than ever – no less pronounced as influences than jungle’s rhythmic dynamism and doom metal’s oppressive weight, or aspects of techno, modern composition and dub." The album is seven tracks long, and is to be released on 2×12", CD and digital.
