Earlier this week NTS hosted the first in a three-part series of radio shows collecting together music from a number of Studio Ghibli films.
Under the banner of ‘Radio Ghibli’, Sega Bodega has mixed music from the Japanese animated films according to the time period in which they were released. The first episode, which you can check out above, covers the years 1986-1992 and features music from Castle In The Sky, My Neighbour Totoro, Grave Of The Fireflies, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Only Yesterday and Porco Rosso.
The second show will air next week and all three shows will be archived here when they have aired. Studio Ghibli is a Japanese animation film studio based in Koganei, Tokyo, which has produced cult films such as Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Ponyo and many more since its inception in 1985.
