New R Stevie Moore Reissues Out Now

Delicate Tension and Glad Music reissued on Personal Injury

Excellent Brooklyn label Personal Injury Records recently reissued a couple of landmark albums by super-prolific outsider musician R Stevie Moore, Delicate Tension and Glad Music.

Both are good entry points into the labyrinthine back catalogue of a man whose album count is currently upwards of 400. Delicate Tension was released in 1978 on Moore’s uncle’s HP Music label, and came shortly after he moved from his native Nashville to New Jersey, while 1984’s Glad Music is one of Moore’s more instantly accessible LPs, a rare example of him having some studio sheen added to his recordings.

Head to the label’s website to get hold of them while you can – they’re limited run and stocks are depleting. To whet your appetites, have a watch of the trailer video Personal Injury put together, which they tell us "features clips from several RSM music videos as well as footage from his appearances on the legendary Uncle Floyd television variety show, AND the whole thing is narrated by Stevie doing his best ‘K-Tel announcer after two bottles of wine’ impression…":
