Still not satisfied after their righteous set last weekend at Glastonbury, Pussy Riot have announced a guerilla gig at London’s Village Underground set for tomorrow, Wednesday, July 1. Accompanying Moscow’s primo provocateurs is Thurston Moore of the Coachmen, Ciccone Youth, Chelsea Light Moving and, uh, Sonic Youth, Siberian garage punks The Jack Wood and bugged-out post-punks Scofferlane.
Maria Alekhina will round out the show with a talk about Zona.Media, an organisation that aims "to make visible the corrupt practices and human rights violations that take place in Russian prisons and other prisons around the world" and "undermine the process of bureaucratic consent that turns ‘anonymous citizen N into faceless prisoner K’".
