Public Image Ltd Announce Album And Tour

John Lydon and co. to return this September with new album followed by an extensive run of tour dates across the UK

Public Image Ltd have announced the release of their 10th studio album for later this year, entitled What The World Needs Now…, as well as a 23-date UK/Europe tour to follow shortly after the album’s release.

The album will follow 2012’s This is PiL, which marked Lydon and co’s first album in 17 years, and will be preceded by lead single and album opener ’Double Trouble’ on August 21, which will be released as a 10” single, backed by another track from the album, ‘Betty Page’, as well as non-album track ’Turkey Tits’. The album was recorded at Steve Winwood’s Wincraft studio in the Cotswolds and will be released on September 4. It is self-funded by PiL and will be released on PiL’s own label, PiL Official. UK and European tour dates are also announced today and will take in a number of dates across the UK – the full list can be found below. Tickets for those shows go on on general sale this Thursday (May 21) at 9am, but will be available via pre-sale from 9am on Tuesday (May 19) and Wednesday (May 20) this week.
