PiL To Headline Rebellion Festival

John Lydon's reformed outfit to headline Blackpool festival in August

Post-punk icons Public Image Limited are to headline Blackpool’s Rebellion punk festival this August, reports Louder Than War. The hugely influential John Lydon-fronted outfit will headline the Empress Ballroom on Saturday 4th August.

PiL announced their reformation in 2009, though the reunited band does not include original members Jah Wobble and Keith Levene. They have since played a number of live dates and festivals, and are currently working on and recording new material.

2012 looks set to be a busy year for PiL. As well as reissuing remastered versions of their entire back catalogue (minus Metal Box, which was already reissued in 2009), they are set to release their first album of new music since 1992.

The albums being reissued are as follows: First Issue (aka Public Image Ltd), Paris In The Spring (Live), Flowers Of Romance, Live In Tokyo, This Is What You Want… This Is What You Get, Album (aka Compact Disc), Happy, 9, The Greatest Hits So Far, That What Is Not and Psycho’s Path.
