This Friday sees ‘Psych Space’ combining psychedelic animation, drone music, hellacious light shows, experimental film, techno, Egyptian rave and much dancing at Oval Space, East London.
The night will be headed up by a live performance from tQ’s very own John Doran helping friend Natalie Sharp, otherwise known as Lone Taxidermist. John will be playing a wide selection of records as part of their set with Natalie manipulating them live via loops, her voice and various analogue synths, with Ross Blake providing live VJing.
Before that JC Flowers, whose debut album was released through ATP, bring to life the soundtrack to 1973 stop-motion sci-fi film Fantastic Planet, performing their own interpretation. Kicking off the night is the world premiere of a special commission featuring Luke Abbott. Collaborating with Dan Tombs on live visuals and dance artist Lucy Suggate, they will reimagine Norman McLaren’s 1968 film Pas de Deux.
It all takes place at Oval Space on June 24. You can find out more information and get tickets here.
