Prodigy Talk New Album

Liam Howlett and co let slip a few details about the follow up to 2009's Invaders Must Die

Popular rave/rock combo The Prodigy have revealed the title of their upcoming new album, as well as some details about what it’s likely to sound like. Speaking to NME, mainman Liam Howlett revealed that the follow up to 2009’s Invaders Must Die will be titled How To Steal A Jet Fighter.

"We’re really excited about it," said Howlett. "The last record was kind of a party album, I guess. We were all happy to be back together again. But the best tunes of that album are the ones that have less of that." It will apparently be "heavier and darker" than their last effort which, while possessed of a few good tunes, was a tad on the patchy side (it’s no Jilted Generation, as the Quietus’ John Doran succinctly noted in our review of Invaders….)

The Prodigy are set to headline a day of this summer’s Download Festival, where it seems likely they’ll be debuting tracks from the new record.
