Today marks what would have been Prince’s 58th birthday and 15 of his albums have now been made available to stream through Tidal in order to coincide with the occasion.
Among the albums are The Black Album and The Rainbow Soul as well as a collection of rarities, B-sides and live recordings. Prince had made efforts to restrict some of his music and live recordings from streaming services but was a vocal fan of Tidal following its launch last year.
Today has also been declared Prince Day by the governor of Minnesota, where Prince lived and passed away, with the governor encouraging those in the area to wear purple to honour Prince on what would have been his birthday.
