Prince’s estate and Sony Music Entertainment have announced a new distribution deal which will cover 35 of the late star’s previously released albums.
Under the agreement, the part of Prince’s catalogue included in the deal will be distributed by Legacy Recordings with initial worldwide rights open to Prince’s album releases between 1995 and 2010. Other albums will follow in the years to come.
The deal also covers rights to other previously released singles, B-sides, remixes, non-album tracks, live recordings and music videos. The deal will extend in 2021 to cover 12 Prince albums released between 1978 and 1996, including Controversy, 1991 and Sign ‘O’ The Times.
Full details on the re-releases are yet to be revealed but will be rolled out in the coming months and years.
