SWANS & More For Primavera

Typically strong line-up from Barcelona festival

The Primavera Festival announced their 2013 line-up last night, and it looks like a good one. As well as a slew of indie stuff like Animal Collective, Postal Service, Kula Shaker Foxygen, Fiona Apple, James Blake and Kurt Vile, the Barcelona event will see appearances from Nurse With Wound, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Goat, Death Grips, Shellac, Killer Mike, John ‘not just one John’ Talabot, Liars, Daphni and Swans, whose performance at the festival a couple of years back was one of the very best things we have ever seen. Primavera have also booked some of our favourite acts from around the world, with the news that Orchestre Poly Rythmo De Cotonou, Omar Souleyman, Tinariwen and Mulatu Astatke are all on the bill.

The festival, which takes place between May 22nd and 26th 2013, also features My Bloody Valentine,

Phoenix, The Knife, the Jesus and Mary Chain, Grizzly Bear, Tame Impala, Dinosaur Jr., Wu-Tang Clan, Band of Horses, Hot Chip, the Breeders, Crystal Castles, Neko Case, Wild Nothing, Fucked Up, Jessie Ware, Solange, Dan Deacon, Camera Obscura, Dead Can Dance, Crime & The City Solution, Christopher Owens, Do Make Say Think, Four Tet, the Sea and Cake, Titus Andronicus, Delorean, Menomena, DIIV, Local Natives, Disclosure, Bob Mould, Daniel Johnston, Woods, Mount Eerie, Meat Puppets, Thee Oh Sees, How to Dress Well, Neurosis, Metz, Daphni, Mac DeMarco, Matthew E. White, Melody’s Echo Chamber, Hot Snakes, King Tuff, Merchandise, Savages, White Fence, FIDLAR, Daughn Gibson. Blur are also on the bill – here’s hoping sponsors Heineken do umbrellas!
