Portishead To Play Bristol War Child Concert For Ukraine

It will mark the group's first live performance in seven years

Portishead are among a list of artists set to perform at a special War Child concert for Ukraine next month.

Taking place at Bristol’s O2 Academy on May 2, the HELP! event will also host the likes of Billy Nomates and Katy J Pearson. Portishead’s appearance at the concert will mark the group’s first live appearance in seven years, following a run of summer festival dates in 2015. "We are really pleased to be able to support the people of Ukraine by performing a few songs at this event in collaboration with the amazing War Child charity," the group said in a statement.

Tickets for the event will only be available through a £10 prize draw, which is open now until April 25, when all winners will be chosen at random. Ticket details can be found here. All donations from the event will go towards aiding the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, and match funding from the UK government will also go to Yemen where millions of children are also currently facing war and conflict.
