Well, this has put the proverbial fist up our afternoon and no mistake.
Plex and Colony have teamed up several times over the past few years to bring London some serious techno-based line-ups – last year’s Plex/Colony/Machine triple header, featuring the likes of Regis, Ancient Methods, Livity Sound, Senking and more, was among tQ’s favourite nights out of last year (and you can read Luke Turner and Rory Gibb’s spangled ramblings about that particular evening here.)
Now they’ve announced that for this year’s party Plex and Colony will be joined by BleeD, for a P/C/B evening at Corsica Studios on November 1st that runs for a healthy twelve hours and features a veritable who’s who of Quietus favourites. The line-up runs the gamut, as they put it, featuring "full-force techno, UK bass, electro, acid, IDM, noise and, we hope, lots of genres we’ve never even heard of".
So industrial techno heads Ancient Methods, Perc and AnD are accompanied by Hessle Audio’s Pangaea, Truss (aka MPIA3), Mick Finesse, DVNT, Kangding Ray and Svreca. Then on the more abstract and exploratory side are Philadelphia technoise fiends Metasplice (regularly covered in our Hyperspecific electronic music column), New York’s DJ Spider and Colony resident Tengui.
The line-up is rounded out by residents and heads of the respective nights – BleeD’s Volte-Face, Plex’s Luke Handsfree and James Tec, Colony’s MB and CB, and more. The Quietus’ own Rory Gibb will also be spinning some records in the BleeD room, having co-hosted recent BleeD shows on Rinse FM.
