PJ Harvey, Jarvis Cocker and More Contribute to ‘Los Angeles Rising’ Benefit Compilation

The release also features unreleased tracks by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Devo, among others

A new compilation benefiting musicians who have been affected by the recent Los Angeles wildfires has been released.

Pulled together by Bauhaus’ Kevin Haskins and producer Nick Launay, Los Angeles Rising takes in previously unreleased cuts by the likes of PJ Harvey, Jarvis Cocker, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Devo, Primal Scream, Gary Numan and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, among others.

All proceeds from sales of the compilation will be donated to the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, which is supporting artists and music professionals who lost their homes and instruments in the fires over the past weeks.

As the compilation’s Bandcamp description reads: “Musician Kevin Haskins (Love and Rockets, Bauhaus) [and] record producer Nick Launay (Nick Cave, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, IDLES) came together after witnessing the destruction of the homes and livelihoods of not only fellow artists but also of their support structure of crew, publicists, marketing teams and of their collaborators, producers, recording and mastering engineers.
