Last week, we brought you the news that in 2014 Field Day will take place on both Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June 2014. Now we can confirm that the Sunday night will be headlined by none other than the mighty Pixies. The news comes off the back of their recent return to release EP1, shortly preceded by the departure of bassist Kim Deal; have a watch of the video for ‘What Goes Boom’ from the record at the foot of the piece. Speaking to Shaun Keaveny on BBC 6 Music, Pixies frontman Black Francis said, "I can’t remember the last time we headlined a festival, so it’s a big deal for us", as well as stating that the band would have more new material at that time. They’ll be joined on the main stage and in a second tent by a whole bunch of excellent groups, more on which soon. In the meantime, hurry for tickets here and listen to a special Pixies edition of Field Day Radio below. Ah yes, and here is a recent Quietus live review that explains why this is not to be missed.
