Pixies Detail New Album, ‘The Night The Zombies Came’

The group's 10th album is preceded by lead single 'Chicken'

Pixes have a new album, The Night The Zombies Came, on the way.

Spanning 13 tracks, the band’s 10th studio album follows on from 2022’s Doggerel LP and is the first full-length effort to emerge from them since Band Of Skulls’ Emma Richardson joined the lineup to take on bass duties.

The Night The Zombies Came is built from “fragments that are related and juxtaposed with other fragments in other songs”, songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Black Francis said in a statement. Its various tracks explore “druidism, apocalyptic shopping malls, mediaeval themed restaurants, 12th-century poetic form, surf rock, gargoyles, bog people” and more, according to a press release.

To mark the album’s announcement, the band have shared new single and lead track ‘Chicken’, which you can listen to below.

BMG will release The Night The Zombies Came on October 25, 2024.
