Pixies Added To Isle Of Wight Bill

Band joins Neil Young and The Prodigy for island bash

The Pixies are the latest band to be confirmed for this year’s Isle Of Wight Festival. They’ve been given the pre-Neil Yong slot on June 14th for what will be the group’s only UK festival appearance this year.

Since their reformation in 2004 they have played only intermittent shows, including a headline slot at the 2005 Reading festival. IOW festival promoter John Giddings told the NME: "It was hard to think of someone capable of complimenting the musical talents of Neil Young, but once I had the idea it was blindingly obvious.

"It will surely be a legendary day on the Isle Of Wight."

The line up for the festival so far is:

The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx, The Ting Tings, Pendulum, Stereophonics, Razorlight, Neil Young, The Pixies and The Charlatans.
