Pieces Screening On Saturday!

Cigarette Burns bring notorious lowbrow classic to Rio Cinema

Having celebrated Lucio Fulci at the Prince Charles Cinema last month, cult film crew Cigarette Burns return to Dalston’s Rio on Saturday April 21 to host a late night screening of Spanish director Juan Piquer Simón’s college campus slasher flick Pieces (Mil gritos tiene la noche). This early ’80s drive-in favourite boasts not one but two, self-explanatory, taglines: ‘You Don’t Have To Go To Texas For A Chainsaw Massacre!’ and ‘Pieces… It’s Exactly What You Think It Is!"

The lights go down at 11.30pm and we’re promised an uncut (so to speak) European Archival 35mm print. You can watch a short trailer below. Be sure to check the Cigarette Burns website for more information and, if you haven’t done so already, read event organiser Josh Saco’s new column for the Quietus.
