Belgian producer Peter Van Hoesen has announced that his second full-length album Perceiver will be released next week – September 3rd – via his own label, Time To Express. In advance of its release he’s offered an online stream of the record, which is now available for listening via FACT – click here to listen. Perceiver marks the follow-up to 2010’s acclaimed Entropic City, and is his first solo release since his collaborative album with Yves De Mey under the name Sendai, which he released earlier this year.
Selected from enough material to fill two albums, Perceiver documents an amalgamation of both his traditional stripped-back techno sound, and some more experimental delving into modular electronics. The album is a great all-the-way-through listen, beginning with delicate tracks like the hissingly abstract ‘Objects From The Past’ and slow-burning stomper ‘Seven, Green & Black’, later swelling into a deeper, richer sound, with tracks like ‘Decoder’ longingly beckoning you to the dancefloor.
