Pet Shop Boys are reissuing their rare 1993 album Relentless to mark its 30th anniversary.
The updated release will mark the first time that the record has been made available individually since 1993, having originally come out as one-half of the double-LP Very Relentless, alongside hit album Very. The reissue of Relentless will be released on limited-edition yellow vinyl with new artwork, as well as on CD and digital formats. Physical copies of the reissue are available for pre-order via Pet Shop Boys’ online store.
In a statement about the reissue, Pet Shop Boys said: "This album was an experiment for us 30 years ago with its six new extended dance tracks. We’re very proud of it and delighted it’s now getting the stand-alone release it deserves."
Relentless comprises six club-focused cuts that explore progressive house, trance and breaks. It only got a standalone release in a limited-edition vinyl run of 500 copies in 1993. Original pressings of that run have since gone on to sell for significant amounts of money on the resale market as a result of the record’s rarity.
Parlophone will release Relentless on October 20, 2023.
