Pet Shop Boys have released a new single titled ‘Give Stupidity A Chance’. You can hear it via the lyric video above.
The track sees the duo take aim at politicians such as Donald Trump and Michael Gove. Neil Tennant says it’s a satirical song and its lyrics are "about the poor quality of political leadership in the modern world."
Before moving on to Trump in the final part of the track, Tennant’s vocal first sets its sights on Brexit. The track is one of four to feature on a new EP titled Agenda. Another three tracks will be made available each day this week until Friday (February 8).
"It contains three satirical songs and one rather sad song," says Tennant of the EP. "I think it’s because of the times we’re living through.” The tracks will not be included on Pet Shop Boys’ next album which is being produced by Stuart Price and is due for release in the autumn.
Agenda will be released on April 12.
