Paul McCartney To Headline Glastonbury

The news has been confirmed by the festival following a cryptic tweet posted by McCartney earlier today

Paul McCartney has been confirmed as the first headliner of the Pyramid Stage at next year’s Glastonbury festival.

The festival confirmed that McCartney would be headlining the Saturday night of next year’s event via a Facebook post following on from a cryptic tweet shared by McCartney this morning featuring images of Philip Glass, Emma Stone and Chuck Berry.

Confirming the news further, McCartney tweeted: "Hey Glasto – excited to be part of your Anniversary celebrations. See ya next summer!"

Paul McCartney is the second artist to be confirmed for next year’s 50th anniversary edition of Glastonbury following on from the announcement of Diana Ross who will fill the Sunday afternoon legends slot on the Pyramid Stage.
