Patti Smith’s ‘Horses’ Set for 50th Anniversary Reissue

The newly remastered edition includes alternate takes of album tracks and more

Patti Smith’s classic 1975 debut album, Horses, is being reissued to mark its 50th anniversary.

The newly remastered edition will come in 2xLP and 2xCD formats, and will also be made available digitally. It includes alternate takes of album tracks, Smith’s original 1975 audition tape for RCA, and four previously unreleased songs: ‘Distant Fingers’, ‘The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game’, ‘We Three’ and ‘Snowball’. You can listen to the latter song below.

Smith is also set to publish the memoir Bread Of Angels on November 4, and will soon head out on an autumn tour of the UK, Europe and the US, during which she will perform Horses in full.

Legacy Recordings will release Horses (50th Anniversary) on October 10, 2025.
