On June 2nd, Papa M – aka Dave Pajo – will be gracing the Quietus Village Mentality stage at this year’s Field Day Festival in Victoria Park. It’s a bit of a ‘that-sort-of-thing-double-header’, as Tortoise are also on the bill a little later on. Anyway, if you go over to the Field Day blog you can see an excellent YouTube mix that Pajo has done to connect with his appearance in Victoria Park. In it, he selects not only music videos and clips from films, music (including Arvo Part) and in interview with Mayhem’s Euronymous, but other visual oddities like, er, slow motion helicopter crashes. "I have an admittedly morbid fascination with seeing helicopter crashes in slow motion," Pajo writes. "There’s something beautiful about it." And while we’re at it, check out R.
