Panda Bear and Sonic Boom have tapped up Adrian Sherwood to produce a remix album of their 2022 collaborative record Reset.
All of Sherwood’s reworks were produced at his legendary On-U Sound Studios, with the connection having come about via a shared appreciation of each other’s work. "One of the primary influences on Reset was Jamaican rocksteady and it seemed like an interesting idea to explore taking it back to that sort of tropical root," said Sonic Boom. "It is a complete reset of Reset!"
To mark the remix LP’s announcement, Adrian Sherwood’s version of ‘Whirlpool Dub’ has been shared online for listening. Kember said it sounded like the original being "filtered through a prism," and added that it "recontexualises the OG." You can check it out above.
Domino will release Reset In Dub on August 18, 2023.
