Mayhem’s Euronymous To Be Honoured By Airline?

UPDATE Monday AM! Currently leading Norwegian airlines contest

Fans of Mayhem are being urged to vote for a picture of the band’s late guitarist Øystein Aarseth, aka Euronymous, to be used on the tail fin of a Norwegian airline jumbo jet.

Voters can take part in the ballot and place the X next to which ever notable Norwegian figure they like – as long as they have joined the heavenly choirs – and the one with biggest boost will get to adorn the extremities of an aircraft in the fleet of Norwegian Airlines. You can place your votes here. Euronymous was murdered by his bandmate Varg Vikernes in August 1993.

Although a popular choice at number two, the current favourite is Trond André Bolle, a Norwegian military officer and commando of the Norwegian Navy Special Operations Command, NORNAVSOC. Bolle died in Afghanistan in 2010 and was awarded the War Cross for bravery above and beyond the call of duty.
