Ostgut Ton Announce Debut Kobosil Album

Berghain resident lines up debut album referencing techno, ambient and drone influences

Berlin’s Ostgut Ton label has announced the release of the debut album from Berghain resident Kobosil.

Following on from a series of 12” releases through the label as well as the producer’s first live sets, the album sees him pushing into more unknown territory than has previously been glimpsed on past material. Titled We Grow, You Decline, much of the album sees Kobosil take a slight leftfield approach from the music he can often be heard banging out at the Berlin club though not completely. Influences of Musique Concrète are namechecked on the album as well as “Electronic Body Music”. The album is out on January 29, 2016. 2015, meanwhile, sees the Ostgut Ton label continue to celebrate ten years of operations with an extensive boxset of unreleased productions from affiliated artists, entitled Ostgut Ton Zehn, due for release later this month and a party at London’s The Hydra venue planned for December featuring appearances from the likes of Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann and a number of the label’s other key figures.
