Brooklyn producer Oneohtrix Point Never has announced that he’s set to release a new album, R Plus Seven, on September 30.
What’s more, it’ll be his first album on Warp, having released his last LP, 2011’s Replica, via Software, his and Ford & Lopatin bandmate Joel Ford’s Mexican Summer imprint.
There’s no music as yet, though the label describe it as "a major departure from his previous work", adding: "Lopatin’s experimental inclinations lurk behind the scenes – in the concepts and procedures he adopted to create the tracks – while the music itself comes as close as Lopatin has ever gotten to anything resembling traditional song structure. […] The work is full of overlapping, abstract musical through-lines, puzzle-like pieces that, taken together, might allow you to glimpse an overarching tableau".
