Adrian Sherwood’s On-U Sound label is to release a new anthology compilation focused on the works of Dub Syndicate, one of the imprint founder’s various projects.
Out Here On The Perimeter (1989-1996) will be released on CD, vinyl and digital formats. It focuses on the four albums that Dub Syndicate released during the titular period: 1989’s Strike The Balance, 1991’s Stoned Immaculate, 1993’s Echomania and 1996’s Ital Breakfast. There is also a bonus collection included, titled Obscured By Version, which sees Sherwood create new versions of tracks from the period featured on the compilation.
Out Here On The Perimeter follows on from previous Dub Syndicate anthology release Ambience In Dub, which collected the early Dub Syndicate albums together. The forthcoming compilation focuses on the period during which Style Scott came to the forefront of the project as bandleader and co-producer, with the band also emerging as a live entity at that point.
