Oliver Coates & Laurie Tompkins Collaborate

Oliver Coates and Laurie Tompkins have teamed up for a new collaborative record

Cellist Oliver Coates and composer Laurie Tompkins have teamed up for a new collaborative record called Ample Profanity. You can hear it above.

Set for release on the Slip label, which Tompkins runs with friends between Newcastle and London, tomorrow (June 29), the record marks the first proper collaboration between the pair and comes ahead of the release of Oliver Coates’ new album, Shelley’s On-Zenn-La, on RVNG Intl. in September.

On Ample Profanity, Tompkins takes on keys, tapes and samples duties while Coates handles FX and cello. Both also share vocal duties. The record follows on from Oliver Coates’ collaborative album with Mica Levi, Remain Calm, which was released by Slip last year. You can purchase Ample Profanity digitally and on vinyl here.
