Objekt Releases New Two-Tracker, ‘Chicken Garaage’

The second record on his own Kapsela label explores early 00s breaks and UK garage

Objekt has released a new two-track record via his recently founded Kapsela label, titled Chicken Garaage.

Out today (October 25), the EP features the title track alongside a cut called ‘Worm Dance’. They explore early 00s breaks and UK garage with influences of T++, Horsepower Productions, Benny Ill and DJ Abstract.

The title track was first sketched out while the producer, real name TJ Hertz, was on tour in Melbourne eating takeaway chicken karaage, and is said to be the first product of a new workflow system which he hopes will accelerate his previously lengthy production process. B-side ‘Worm Dance’, meanwhile, was largely constructed from field recordings captured at a lake house outside of Berlin in 2022.

You can listen to both songs below and get them on Bandcamp.

Chicken Garaage follows the reissue in September of Objekt’s 2014 track ‘Ganzfeld’ alongside new remixes. That release marked the launch of his new label, Kapsela, which will be an outlet for his work and music by others.

Chicken Garaage is out now on Kapsela.
