Uganda’s Nyege Nyege festival has confirmed its full line-up for its fifth edition this September.
The festival will return to its base of Jinja’s Nile Discovery Beach, with a bill that takes in more than 300 acts from over 30 different countries. Amongst those confirmed to play are Nyege Nyege’s core residents and label affiliates such as Slikback, Duke & MCZO and Sisso, while the festival will also welcome a number of acts from China’s burgeoning underground electronic music scene such as Genome 666 label head Kilo Vee, and SVBKVLT-affiliated producers Hyph11e, Gooooose and 33EMYBW.
Juan Atkins will play too, with his set marking his debut in Africa, while the likes of Josey Rebelle, Discwoman’s SHYBOI and Dutch Nyege Nyege resident DJ Marcelle are all also locked in to play. Japan’s DJ Scotch Egg and DJ Die Soon will participate in a month-long residency around the festival ahead of playing.
